Buying a new home seems like a challenge in the eyes of more and more people in our country, given the economic situation and the rising prices of goods and services. However, what do the statistics show and where does our capital rank in terms of price per square meter?
From city centers to beautiful and quiet suburbs, the European housing market can be very broad and offer many different accommodation options. However, house and apartment prices in different countries are now slightly different than they were a few years ago.
How is the square meter going in the different European capitals?
The price levels per square meter in different cities varies, and sometimes the difference is several times higher or lower. The capital with the most expensive square meter is London, where it costs 16,163 euros. This is the price for the centerpieces. At the same time, the average salary in the city is 3,880 euros, according to experts' data.
The second capital with the most expensive square meter is Paris, where it costs 12,178 euros. This is the price for the central parts of the city. Outside the center the price drops to 8,500 euros. At the same time, the average monthly salary is 3,000 euros. This means that about 4 average salaries are needed for one square meter.
In third place is the Swiss capital Bern. There, the square meter in the center is 10,685 euros, and outside the center is 7,600 euros. However, the high standard in the country speaks for itself and the average salary there is 6300 euros. That is, less than two salaries are needed to buy one square meter of space in the center.
In the center of Vienna, the square meter is 8,600 euros, and outside it, the price is 5,300 euros. The average salary in the city is 2,700 euros. 2 average salaries are needed to buy one square meter.
The example of Rome is more striking. There, in the center, a square meter costs 7,300 euros, and outside it - 3,400 euros. The average salary in the city is 1,700 euros. That is, to buy a square meter in the center, it takes about 5 average salaries.
The European capital with the lowest price per square meter is Minsk. In the center of the Belarusian capital it costs 1,600 euros, and outside it - 1,000 euros. The average salary in the city is 500 euros.
The second capital with the lowest price per square meter is Skopje. In the city center it is 1800 euros. The average salary is 530 euros, which means that more than 3 salaries are needed to buy one square meter.
Where is Sofia located according to housing prices?
In the center of Sofia, a square meter costs 2,500 euros. Outside the center, the average price is 1,600 euros. At the same time, the average salary in the city is 1130 euros. That is, it takes just over two average salaries to buy a square meter in the city center.
What we can conclude is that, despite all the speculation in our country, Bulgaria still holds one of the lowest prices per square meter. Given this and the ever-changing market, the decision to buy a property should not be put off for the future, because there is never a better time to buy your new home NOW!
